Bets are pouring in thick and fast on the midterms as we approach the final fortnight. I can report notable changes across the wide range of markets at BetOnline.

Mostly these are in favour of the Democrats, including the following three Senate races. Sherrod Brown’s odds are tightening by the day, with early vote analysts suggesting positive signals from Ohio.

The other two races – South Carolina and Mississippi – are way past the line they would need to regain the Senate. Losing either would be catastrophic for the Republicans.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Likewise from the long list of House races, all these market moves favour the Democrats, apart from California-07, which is between two Democrats.

California’s jungle primary system also produced an all-Democrat clash for Los Angeles Mayor. This could be one of the most exciting midterm races. Nithya Raman has surged from clear outsider but money in recent days has brought incumbent Karen Bass into contention.

LA MAYOR

RAMAN -130 (WAS -165)

BASS +100

A small bit of good news for Republicans lies in the gubernatorial races. Their favourites in Florida and Kansas are hardening up. There’s a strong suspicion, evident from the spending patterns, that Democrats are pouring far fewer resources into these than congressional races.
