It is commonly known that US politics has become extremely partisan and voters somewhat fixed in their choices over recent decades. However the concept of split ticket voting is far from dead and will be seen across the country next month.
Candidate quality still matters and in some of the most prominent state races, a clear difference is visible between candidates for Senate and Governor.
As readers will probably be aware, I am the senior political oddsmaker for BetOnline. We have a huge range of betting options available on the US midterms, and the list is growing each day.

Over the last couple of days, I’ve been pricing up some of these hypothetical match-ups. All Democrats so far, of which I will be adding more soon, along with some Republican match-ups.
For example, Senator Jon Ossoff has a big edge over Governor candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms. Not only is he a near-unbackable 1-25 to win the Senate race, but is widely tipped to become a leading 2028 presidential candidate.
KLB, on the other hand, is the outsider in a close Governor race against Rick Jackson. The outgoing Governor is Republican Brian Kemp.
In this case, I’ve awarded KLB a 5.5% headstart in order to even up the match. Now both can be backed at odds of 5/6 (-120 in American or 1.83 in fractional odds).
Here’s the list so far.
David Jolly (Governor) (-1.5%) – 5/6
Angie Nixon (Senate) (+1.5%) – 5/6
Jon Ossoff (Senate) (-5.5%) – 5/6
Keisha Lance Bottoms (Governor) (+5.5%) – 5/6
Sand (Governor) (-5.5%) – 5/6
Turek (Senate) (+5.5%) – 5/6
Benson (Governor) (-4%) – 5/7
El-Sayed (Senate) (+4%) – Evens
Klobuchar (Governor) (-4.5%) – 10/13
